Vantage point
What you see here is a branch of a cherry tree, covered in frost. I woke up to a frost covered world this morning, and even though I'm not a big fan of winter (ironically, given the fact that I live in a part of the world where the cold months by far outweigh the warm ones), I have to admit I think days like these are beautiful.
After having shot this, I was struck by how often I've stood almost exactly at the same place on cold days, photographing branches. I think it has to do with the background -- my neighbor's wall. It's quite dark, so it contrast well with the frost. Here are a few over the other autumn/winter shots I've taken of branches with the exact same wall as background.
In the last photo I just turned 180 degrees at photographed a frosted branch against a pine tree.
My garden is not big and it's not very photogenic per se. But there are quite a few things to photograph anyway, at least when I pay attention to the small details.

Flight mode
A beautiful winter sunset somewhere above western Norway. If not for the sound of the jet engines, I'd guess this view would've been more or less the definition of serenity.
I photographed this with an iPhone 4S with HDR mode set to on, but I used the non-HDR version here. I have to say I so far prefer the non-HDR photos from the phone, as the HDR versions gets a little bland in my eyes (the dynamic range is increased [or rather compressed] so far that you lose a little too much contrast in the process). The non-HDR files can take whatever level of abuse you want to give it in post anyway.

In space no one can hear you swim
Oil and water. Space. What can go wrong, except for the iPad at the bottom of the big glass bowl containing the aforementioned oil and water? Almost nothing I hope.
